In May, Forte will launch a call for project grants for the collection or management of data. The aim is for the projects to generate new data and make data accessible that can serve as the basis for new research.

To strengthen the conditions for research within Forte’s areas, Forte is soon opening a funding call for the collection and management of data. The grant can, for example, be used to conduct new data collection for existing longitudinal studies or to supplement existing research material with new registry data. The projects should contribute added value for a research environment or research project.

“There is a significant need to secure access to high-quality research data for future research. At the same time, it can be challenging for researchers to obtain funding for such purposes, given the fierce competition for research funds. This call aims to address this need and can be seen as a complement to Forte’s traditional project grants”, says Nadja Fagrell Trygg, Senior Research Officer at Forte and responsible for the new call.

Focus area

We welcome applications within all of Forte’s three areas (health, working life and welfare). We are requesting projects with one or several of the following purposes:

  • Data collection
  • Systematisation, harmonisation, and documentation (metadata) of data
  • Development of tools or support to improve or simplify the use of data or to increase its quality

Projects that include analyses aimed at addressing specific research questions fall outside the scope of this call.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a grant in this call for applications you must have obtained a doctoral degree no later than the closing date of the call (15 August 2024).

Project duration and amount

Funding can be sought for one (1) year. There is no maximum amount for the grant, but the requested budget should be well justified in the application. Given the total budget for the call, a reasonable guideline is between SEK 0.5 million and SEK 2 million per project.
